Top 5 Romantic Experiences in Cancun & the Riviera Maya
One of the longest-surviving tours in Cancun and with good reason. Live jazz, open bar, champagne included, steak and/or lobster perfectly grilled on board. Two seatings: 5:30pm for sunset on the lagoon 8:30pm for an under the stars experience. This is a repeat event for many couples.
Private Dinner with Personal Chef at the Ritz Carlton
Book your dinner and develop your menu with the chefs from Ritz Carlton Cancun’s Culinary Center. The center overlooks the ocean and, among other services, offers hands on cooking classes in a state of the art, residential style kitchen and an intimate Private Chef Series with wine pairings. The Culinary Center is a unique concept for a hotel: Bravo! Ritz Carlton. Bon apetit.
This is one of the most original romantic half-day tours on the books. Sian Ka’an is a 1.3 million acre biosphere reserve named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. It encompasses native communities, wetlands, mangrove forests, pristine beaches and both Ascension and Espiritu Santo bays are within its borders. It’s breathtaking and wild and wonderful. Start the afternoon with a leisurely cruise through mangrove forests with a naturalist as guide; then it’s into the water for a gentle, 2 km float down the canal, coaxed along by the current. Finish up with a walk on the beach, then just sit down and relax. Enjoy fine wine and cheese as the sun goes down and Nature regales you with a spectacular show of color and light that is sunset in the tropics. Romantic. Wednesday and Saturdays only. Couples Massage at the Coral Beach Spa
The Fiesta American Grand Coral Beach is the only hotel in Latin America with an integrated Gem Spa, named for the minerals whose healing powers are legendary. Many spas offer a couple’s massage but this one is unique and carried out in the ultra-luxurious VIP suite. Both 50 min and 80 min options available. Check out their roster of other treatments based on techniques from three different healing traditions (Baltic, Asian and Mayan). Interesting concept.
The cenotes are natural freshwater pools in the middle of the jungle. There is very little marine life to see but what is incredible and worth taking a peak are the incredible underwater stalactites and stalagmites that form. The visibility in the cenotes is also without compare and is reason alone to get your feet wet. Eerily silent, impossibly romantic.
